I love the commitment of people who give up their weekends to participate in, support and administer grassroots sport. As an example here is a clip of a rugby match played on the Saturday storm Dennis lashed the United Kingdom. The temperature of the mud was absolutely awful and for the players to be out in it for over an hour and a half was nothing short of heroic.
Photographers generally are self-reliant folk who tend to take matters into their own hands rather than rely on others. That is not to say we are not team players or that we do not like a collaborative project or two. We might ask “how can I do that myself?” instead of “who can I pay to do that for me?”
Over my long career I have through necessity taught myself amongst other things, accounting, tax returns, sound recording, how to unblock a drain etc. The latest instalment is web building and management using WordPress, to wit, this site that I humbly present to you, dear visitor.
